CHURCH SCHOOL - NEW LIBRARY

On Saturday, 29th April, Dr. G. R. T. Birtwhistle officially opened the new Library Annexe at the Church School. He paid tribute to the efforts of the Parent-Teachers Association which raised the money for the cedar-wood building standing in the garden of the School House; to the parents who prepared the site and to those who gave up their time (in two cases part of their holidays) to build the shelves and decorate the building. Not forgotten were the ladies who made the attractive curtains. The Education Committee are providing the heating and lighting of the building.
At the Coffee Morning which was the occasion of the opening, parents bought and donated to the school books totalling in value 44 (69 books). In addition, the Association is giving 50 for the purchase of more books.
Mr. J. C. Key is the Official Librarian and will be most pleased to receive any fuither donations towards the purchase of books.
The Parent-Teacher Association is also paying the rental of a 24 inch television set to supplement the one provided by the Education Committee.
