The Annual General Meeting of the Young Wives was held on Wednesday 6th June. Mrs. E. Cartwright was re-elected leader, Mrs. D. Harris as secretary and Mrs. J. Towle as Treasurer. The committee elected for the following year were:

A. Morley, M. Watson, S. Wright, K. Emerson, M. Bilton.

The meeting was completed by a Beetle Drive and Supper
During the past year the Young Wives have visited East Halton and were invited to the Methodist Church to share their meeting. The Annual Dinner at the Barrow Haven took place at the beginning of December, also in December about ten members went to carol sing to the house-bound, which seemed to be very much appreciated. Several speakers have been to the meetings, talking about various subjects ranging from cooking, rope-making, young children in hospital and safety in the home.
The team for the quiz reached the final, and only lost by a very small margin to Market Rasen in the Final. Our congratulations to this year's team having won their first round against Middle Rasen and we wish them luck in the next round against either Crowle or Market Rasen in July
(We are very grateful to one or two Young Wives who have been giving invaluable service in St. Mary's Sunday School but have now had to resign their posts. We urgently need others to step into the breach. Please see the Vicar or Mr. Emerson if you think you might like to know more of what it entails. DCS)
