Confirmation and Communion

A few weeks ago I was asked by three young adults whether they would have been allowed to receive Communion at the Parish Church altar. They were all communicants of another denomination, and they had gained the impression that they were not allowed to receive the sacrament in an Anglican church, although they had been present throughout the service.
Let me take this opportunity of making the position quite clear. Canon Law B15 states that communicant members of other Christian churches are welcome to receive the sacrament in any church of the Church of England. There are no conditions at all, but it is the duty of the parish priest, if a member of another church comes regularly to receive the sacrament in the Church of England, to draw their attention to the usual requirement of Confirmation for communicant membership of the Church of England.

CONFIRMATION 1973

We have just been notified that our date for the parish Confirmation has been fixed for Sunday 8th April at 9.30 am and the service will be conducted by the Bishop of Lincoln. Adults who wish to be confirmed should inform the Vicar or Mr. Emerson before the New Year. The adult group will begin its meetings in January.
