Busy Bellringers

A mini ringing tour was the order of the day for the evening of July 29 to celebrate the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer. The Barton bellringers went first to All Saints, Goxhill where we joined the Goxhill band before moving on to St. Lawrence, Thornton Curtis; finishing back at St. Mary’s. All agreed it had been a very enjoyable evening.
St. Mary’s was the venue for the North Lindsey Branch of the Lincoln Diocesan Guild of Church Bellringers on August 1. Among many friends we had visitors from across the Humber Bridge and East Retford. Ringing took place in the afternoon until the Ringers' Service, which was followed by tea in the Hall and a short business meeting. Further ringing was enjoyed until 9 pm.
On Tuesday August 4 we were pleased to welcome 10 ringers from St. Mary’s, Cottingham to our practice night. They had cycled over the Humber Bridge with their ringing captain, Ian Booth. We shall have to get our cycles polished up for a return visit.
