Visit of Dr. Ron Tan Our New Link Missionary

Dr. Ron Tan from Malaysia who is currently working in the United Kingdom and is going to work in Uganda or Nigeria as a Missionary will be visiting Barton and St. Mary's on Monday and Tuesday April 6 and 7. So that as many of us as possible can meet him and hear from him, there will be a meeting with Dr. Tan in the Church Hall on Monday evening, 6th April at 7.30pm. We also hope that he will be able to visit some of the schools. Do come and meet this fellow Christian from another country with whose work for the Lord we shall be especially linked and for whom we are asked to pray.

African Palms

The palm crosses that Will be given at the services on Palm Sunday have been made in seven mud villages in the Diocese of Masasi in Tanzania where the income for each mud hut is approximately 20 a YEAR! Thus by buying African Palms we shall he helping to give work to people whose only other source of income is very limited. At the same time we are helping to make limited capital improvements such as the building of a new school. The villagers did all the work free and excess profits from the palms paid for the roofing. It is a lovely school, nIce and light inside - quite unlike the dark old grass roofed building.
Equally important, the fact that Christians here in England go out of their way to buy these African Palms, encourages the Christians in Masasi.
